Princess Sophia

Hello!

Last week we went to a friend's daughter 3rd birthday party.  Princess Sophia.  I made this card for Sophia.  Michael tells me it is the most beautiful card I have made. :-)

I am pretty happy how it came out, especially the bow.  I have a lot of trouble tying pretty bows, but practice makes it perfect.  :-)

I used the sketch below (from the latest Paper Craft Magazine) to put the card together.

Moxie Fab - Tuesday Trigger

At the Moxie Fab blog they have a new Tuesday trigger with this beautiful picture of a yellow door.

I decided to have fun with this picture and created the following card:

Celebrate the good things

I used the black boots are inspiration to the black card. I used the door color and design to create the lattice in the card. The roses where inspired by the vase in top of the table.  I had fun with this card!

First card of 2011

Hello,

I managed to get a card done before my 1st chemo treatment.  My Oncologist nurse was celebrating her birthday on my first treatment and I decided to make her a card to brighten her day.  She is a really nice person and I know she likes the color blue.

2010 Cards

Wow!  It has been almost 1 year that I haven't post in here.  Last year was a very busy and stressful year.  I spent way too many hours working, my father-in-law passed away and I got diagnosed with breast cancer.  No wonder I haven't touch my blog. :-)  I did find time last year to create some cards.  As I was going through the photos folder looking for pictures of the cards, I was surprised by how many cards I actually managed to create last year.

This card was created for my brother Carlos' birthday.  He is a big kid and he likes technology, so I thought this robot  would be perfect for him.

I love this card.  It is one of my favorites cards of all time.  This card was given to one of our  friend's son.  His parents loved the card so much that they added to a shadow box they created for Casey.  :-)

I created this card for my sister-in-law Connie.  She loves dragonflies.  Is is my second favorite card of the year.

The next 4 cards were created for Easter.  I gave each one of my brothers, my sister, my mom and my dad one of these cards.  This picture of  Joshua and Priscilla are one of my favorites.

My friend Kim Occhiuti breeds Australian Terries.  She asked me to create this card for one of her friends that live in Australia.

The daughter of a member of the twins club I belong had some major surgery.  The members of the club were asked to help her out with meals. I make the family some wonderful homemade Mac and Cheese and along with the meal I sent this card to brighten her day.

I made this card to my niece Emma.  I used my new Copic Markers to color the card.  I am just learning how to color with these great markers.

I gave this card to my Mom on her Birthday.

I took this picture of the Crocus on my yard last spring.  I created this card for my Mom for Mother's Day.  My mom loves Crocus.

This card is tied for #1 of my all time favorite cards.  My niece Sabrinna celebrated her 12th birthday in November.  The theme of her birthday party was the Twilight movie.  I created this card for her by using the Twilight font and adding the horizontal and vertical lines.  I never seen the movies but a quick search online told me that a red ribbon has some significance in the movie.  I decided to use the red ribbon in my design.  

Joshua and Priscilla gave this card to Vovó (Grandma) on her Birthday.  My mom loves pictures, so I always try to include pictures of the kids in her cards.   

I gave this card to my Uncle Anthony.  He has been bedridden for about a year now due to having several small strokes.

Hello Kitty paper piecing for Caroline.  Caroline is the corporate photographer at my company and she loves Hello Kitty.  Her cubicle is a Hello Kitty museum.  Caroline is a very nice person and I wanted to do something special for her.  This Hello Kitty is now part of Caroline's museum.

Paper Lace

Hello Everyone,

Happy Spring!  We had a beautiful day here today.  The sun was out, deep blue skies and temperatures in the 70’s.  The kids, my husband and I were out in the yard enjoying this great weather.   It felt so nice to finally get some warm weather.  Spring is here!  

This past week I worked on a card for the Diggin' on Dollies and Lace Challenge going on at the Moxie Fab blog.  The challenge was to create a card with lace and/or dollies as the focal point of the card.  

When I think of paper lace the first thing that comes to mind is Parchment Craft.  Parchment Craft has a special place in my heart; it was the first paper craft I learned when I was a little girl in Brazil.  I love the beautiful intricacy of parchment lace work, so I decided to make my own lace for the challenge. The design for the lace in the card was inspired by one of the parchment designs from one of my favorite parchment designer Anneke Oostmeijer.  You can see some of her amazing work in here.

One Parchment card can take a lot of time to make.  Specially if the design requires lots of cutting. The lace work for the card above took about 7 hours to complete, which is why I don't make many Parchment cards these days.  :-)   The rest of the card was very simple to make.

The colors for the card were inspired by the picture of the Sunshine Apron in the Diggin' on Dollies and Lace Challenge blog entry.  Gosh, I love that apron.  :-)

Having Fun with Floss Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Last week was a tough week for me.  The whole family got sick including me, and on Friday we woke up with 4 inches of water in our basement.  Thankfully we all seem to be getting better and the water has receded.

I didn't think I was going to be able to create a card for the Moxie Fab Challenge - Fun with floss, but I felt a lot better last night and I made this card for the challenge.  I will give this card to my mom on Mother's Day.
